Networking & Advocacy Opportunities

E-mail Print PDF

The Forum's hallmark monthly luncheon events follow a similar pattern to the much revered NYC Wings Club. In recent years, speakers such as Phil Condit, Lord Marshall, Bob Crandall, Sir Richard Branson, Steve Udur-Hazy, Peter Sutch, Gordon Bethune, John Leahy Pete Conrad and Joe Sutter have needed little introduction. The Forum has also re-established smaller focus group gatherings. On a regular basis specialists in Operations, Finance, Marketing, Logistics and Infrastructure have an opportunity to meet.

In addition the Forum actively supported the development of the Hong Kong Aviation Development Council, established in 2000, as it reviews Hong Kong and the region's aviation training needs. Launch support for the Asian Business Aircraft Association was provided and links are maintained as well as with the Hong Kong Historical Aircraft Association and the Royal Aeronautical Society.

In recent years and specifically since an informed alliance was formed with PBEC in February 2008. AFA has been in the business of "Advocated Advocacy" orchestrated. Particularly importent in this external advocacy role which focusses on the APEC process is the long standing sponsorship and support received from IATA. AFA also aligns it's advocacy activities wth AAPA.
